RESTAURANT
Vibes of another era
The restaurant’s name “Efcharis” comes from the ancient Greek word εὔχαρις and means “the one who has a lot of fun, a cheery and pleasant mood”.
Since 1995, Efcharis is housed in a neoclassical building of the 19th century in the heart of the Historic Center of Athens, in Monastiraki area.
Efcharis is situated one minute away from the metro and railway “Monastiraki” station, on the historic pedestrian street of Hadrian, next to the Roman Agora of Athens and the Library of Hadrian, exactly at the entrance of Plaka and under the rocky crag of Acropolis. The ancient temple of Hephaestus (Thissio area), the Ancient Agora as well as the Stoa of Attalos, are only just a few steps away from Efcharis.
Efcharis internal area reminds the scenery of the old city of Athens, with its impressive inner stone-made courtyard (typical characteristic of the old houses in Plaka), the antiques and the arbor on the roof of the patio.
At Efcharis you may enjoy a Mediterranean and Greek cuisine, offering a rich variety of flavors and local recipes, made from fresh products coming from every corner of Greece.
In the Efcharis wine cellar you may find bulk cask wine and wine varieties from Greek vineyards. Our wine labels are selected according to the dishes of our menu, so as to achieve the best combination when you enjoy your meal.
