The restaurant’s name “Efcharis” comes from the ancient Greek word εὔχαρις and means “the one who has a lot of fun… a cheery and pleasant mood”.

Since 1995, Efcharis is housed in a neoclassical building of the 19th century in the heart of the Historic Center of Athens, in Monastiraki area.

Our Handmade Desserts

Every day we prepare in our kitchen Greek traditional sweets and pastries, made of high quality fresh ingredients, all based on old homemade recipes.

We suggest you to taste our famous traditional baklava, our walnut pie, ravani and our delicious galaktoboureko.

Our traditional Moussaka and Gemista (peppers and tomatoes stuffed with rice, baked in the oven), the famous Kleftiko (lamb with potatoes and herbs, baked in the oven in a parchment paper), our rich Meat Variety, our Bekri Meze, the exquisite Melitzanato (chopped eggplants, mixed with 3 kinds of cheeses and tomato, baked in a clay pot).

Furthermore you will be very close to the famous shopping street of Ermou, next to the Psyrri neighbourhood and Thissio and also just 5 minutes walking until Syntagma Square.
